About Me

My photo
Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, United States
I have been crafting and doing shows for 20 plus years. I have 3 children and I love creating primitive country crafts. I am married and my husband is my biggest asset to my success. But I can't forget the help my children have been through the years and still to this day. This has been a true family event. I hope you like what you see. I have made so many friends through the years. They started out as customers an are now dear friends, and that is all worth the long hours that we all put into making our creations. I say our creations, because my husband and children help in so many ways. Enjoy my pictures and posts, have a cup of coffee and some downtime to just relax...and come back soon...from my house to yours, Denise

Please take time to remember our service men and women past and present. So many have given their lives for our country. Give thanks for our lives here in America.

Getting Ready For Halloween.....

Hi everyone, it has been a bit since I wrote, but so many things to do on the computer and it all takes time. Before you know it I am on here for 3 hours or more, posting on etsy, updating emails and the list goes on. Let's not talk about surfing and reading other blogs, but that comes at night before I jump into bed...So what have I been working on, well I have been doing all seasons since Jan 15th....but right now I am heavy into fall and Halloween. I just enjoy making things for it and also for winter and Christmas...so many ideas and not enough time to do it all. I have notebooks filled with sketches of ideas that pop into my head...just need 48 hour days and 4 more hands...but since that is impossible I tackle what I can each day.

I went to the lumber yard last weekend, and $700.00 later the truck was loaded so much I could not fit one more board or sheet of plywood in it... and I still need 2 x 4's, 6's, 8's, 10's and 12's.....that is another trip in itself......got some paint, stain, sealer....bought all they had that day...but that is something I go for and clean their shelf off until they get more...I guess I can pre order...but I just stop in as I am out and about....so my days are filled with cutting, sanding, painting, staining and finishing up each item and storing it away like a squirrel hiding his nuts for the winter.

Did I say I could use another shed...well if not, I am really looking at a 12 by 30 foot dutch barn type that I will have upper storage also, and a place to hang wreaths that are ready to go...I will keep a small part for the lawn tractor and stuff...and the rest for my crafts...hard to store them in the house, esp when they are freestanding and up to 4 foot tall. When it comes time for fall/winter shows, my house is a virtual hoarders dream....I have an empty bedroom that is packed full of the antiques I paint on...all wrapped up in sheets to protect them until it is their turn to go to a show...and you guys think this is easy....you have to be around when I am pulling my hair out...my husband and kids say...well looks like "Fiona" is here today...lol My family and close friends have seen "Fiona" and it ain't pretty....my way of blowing off steam I guess...everyone does it, some just don't talk about it...lol The life of a crafter, sometimes interesting, fun, stressful and sometimes boring when you paint the same thing over and over ....but it is not something I would have changed...I have met some wonderful customers, made great friends and yes even paid some bills....have a great day everyone...
